Christina and Jim were married on May 22nd, 2010 at The Kingston Plantation. To be honest, I completely forgot to post their little sneak peak. Three days before their wedding I sprained my lower back. Now I’ve hurt my back before, years of waiting tables and bartending will do that to you. But this was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced pain wise. It had me down. Because of the nature of what I do, “calling out of work” was not an option. So armed with an electronic device attached to my waist continuously zapping the muscles of my lower back and an arsenal of ibuprofen and Aleve I got it done. Christina and Jim were extremely understanding. My only concern was because it was warm and I was a little sweaty that I might electrocute myself :) Needless to say, everything went off without a hitch. But the following two weeks of recovering from the sprain were brutal. Luckily I had one weekend off before all of my June weddings. With the help of my chiropractor, my yoga teacher and REST I was ready to go by June 5th. Keep an eye out for the full post of this wedding coming soon!! I hope everybody is having a great summer! Please feel free to leave some comments!!

We could not have chosen a more beautiful place on a more beautiful day to photograph Jessica’s bridal portraits. Snow Hill is a very special place. Edged up to the river and lined with 200 year old live oaks, Jessica’s timeless beauty and charming style paired perfectly with this beautiful property. Spring came a little late this year and Jessica really lucked out with the date we chose for the session. Every tree was in full bloom. It really could not have been more beautiful. Jessica loved her dress from The Little White Dress and the bouquet by Barry West of Blossoms Events was perfect. But being the shoe girl that I am I have to say my favorite thing was the 6 inch, hot pink, sequined, Christian Louboutins!! So without further ado I give you the beautiful Jessica Diez! ENJOY!!

Charlie and Jessica were married on June 12th, 2010. They are by far the cutest, kindest, sweetest couple I know. But none of this comes as a shock to me knowing both sets of their parents. I’ve known Charlie’s dad for some time now and I’ve gotten to know Jessica’s dad, David, through this process. Let me just say this, in all my weddings I’ve never had a father of the bride be so involved in the process. David was there with her and for her every step of the way. I think it just goes to show what an amazing young man Charlie is that David would give his blessing for him to marry his little girl. This wedding was truly the merging of two great families. And considering Charlie has had his eye on her since the 2nd grade, well I’d say it was about time. Here’s a couple of captures we snagged before the ceremony at the always charming and always beautiful Pine Lakes. ENJOY!!

Andrew and Holly were married on June 5th, 2010 at Belin Methodist Church and their reception was at the always beautiful Wachesaw Plantation. I’ve been to a lot of weddings and I’ve had a great time at all of them. But I must give credit where credit is due and as far as parties go, Dr. and Dr. Glover’s wedding takes the cake (wedding cake of course)!
I’ll be sure to put together a full post for you soon. In the meantime here’s a sneak peak. ENJOY!!

Lauren and Will were married March 27th, 2010 on the bluffs of the always beautiful Wachesaw Plantation. Lauren is a a perfect example of a modern southern bride. What I loved the most about Lauren was her authenticity. Much like myself, with Lauren.. what you see is what you get. Her big smile and out going spirit carried through the entire vibe of the wedding. Her all white color pallette was refreshing yet bold and sophisticated. Set against the backdrop of the Waccamaw River, it was quite literally “picture perfect”… a little chilly, but perfect none the less. Lauren’s goal was clear from the beginning.. PARTY!!! I think these images whole heatedly tell the story of just what a great day it was. Lauren looked AMAZING! Johnny with Johnny Cosmetics did an incredible job styling all of the ladies. Barry West and his team from Blossoms Events created the beautiful arrangements and Lauren’s sweet scented all white garden rose bouquet. And the number one detail of the day… well if you can’t see the underlying them of the wedding, email me and I’ll clue you in.
As a photographer, I am constantly on the lookout for inspiration. It’s a key element in the creative process. Even just this past week I was longing for a trip to the museum or just a few hours with a stack of fashion mags and a hot tea. June is a sedulous month. At times I literally feel like I’m running a marathon. Much like running a marathon I must pace myself, stay focused, and breathe. So with lack of time to over indulge in things of inspiration, I came to a realization as I sat with my computer and pushed through to get this wedding posted. In as much as I need outside inspiration, my inspiration comes from my brides and their vision and the interpretation of that vision by the artists they choose. From Johnny to Barry to the beautiful woodwind quartet… the Waccamaw River, the pearls Lauren had made just for the day… all of these things inspired me through the day. I always hear from clients and potential clients, “I want my wedding photos to look different and unique.” Here’s my response: If you want your wedding photos to look unique and different and a reflection of YOU… then make sure your wedding is unique and different and a reflection of YOU! And from there I will do everything I can to capture not only the napkins and the shoes, but the spirit of YOU and your LOVE for each other. So with that I give you Lauren and Will! ENJOY!!!

A very special thank you to Reuben Long and Stuart Plemmons for their assistance. I can not do it alone and you guys did an amazing job. THANK YOU!!!!

I shot Alicia and Greg’s engagement session last night. It took them a few minutes to get warmed up, but once they did they were on fire. They are my first wedding booked for 2011 (aka better book now if you’re getting married in May :). I really enjoyed getting to know them better. Greg was a groomsman in a wedding I shot last April. For me, there is no greater compliment than when I get a referral from a previous wedding. So thank you Thomas and Amanda for introducing me to Greg via your wedding! So here is a quick peak at what we got last night. ENJOY!!

“Gurl, Ima need me my nitroglycerin tablets before this day is over!”, were Hope’s exact words to me on numerous occasions as she and Dean planned their wedding in less than 12 weeks. I was like, “Gurl Ima need ‘em too!” Dean and Hope had to travel to Vegas for business just two weeks before the wedding, thus the tan lines. The day after they got back we photographed the session. Tight for time I called my good friend Barbara Graham and asked her if we could use her GAWJUSS home for the session. Barbara graciously agreed. I can’t thank her enough for her generosity. Her home offered me so much inspiration. I could have spent hours and hours with Hope. Poor thing was exhausted and had jet lag. But you’d never guess based on the shots we got. What a stunner!!
I couldn’t wait to post these. Hope is a natural beauty, inside and out. I would like to think that after what we have been through together in the last 3 weeks that we will be friends for a long time! So without further ado… Hope Carroll! ENJOY!!

Hope and Dean were married Saturday May 8th at First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. I just have to say that when I was skimming through the images I thought to myself, this just isn’t fair. Hope just does not take a bad photo and frankly, neither does Dean. I spoke to Hope today before she and Dean left for their two week honeymoon in Bora Bora. I informed her that April (the wedding planner), Cindy (Dean’s assistant), and I were having a big party tonight at their house, but not to worry we won’t put any bubble bath in the pool!! They planned the entire wedding in less than three months so two weeks in Bora Bora is just what this bride and groom need to ease the stresses and worries that planning a wedding can bring. I had a great time. Reuben and Stephanie did a great job. I am very lucky to have both of them, as photographers and as friends. I could not have done it without them. So without further ado I give you a little peak of Hope and Dean’s wedding.
ENJOY!!

Reuben snagged this amazing shot of Dean as he waited for the ceremony to begin. This is what it is all about. This is why we do what we do.

I love stories. I love life stories. People stories. And these two photos represent a brand new chapter in Ingrid’s life story. I’ve known Ingrid and her family for almost 11 years. I taught her sister how to wait tables when she was 18. I photographed her sister’s wedding, her wedding, her mother’s wedding.. I’ve photographed her sister’s son Jake, her daughter Jillian and now her beautiful daughter Rylie Grace. As I said I’ve known Ingrid for a long time, and I have never seen her so content, so peaceful, so happy. I am grateful for the opportunity to capture her story. I’ll be sure to post more soon.

Summer and Craig booked me to photograph their wedding at the Kingston Plantation almost 14 months ago and it’s a good thing they did. I received more inquires for May 1st than any other day this year. A lot of people must have gotten married yesterday. Craig has had a rough couple of years health wise. So yesterday was not only an outward expression of their love for one another but it was also a celebration of life and family and how precious and important both are. I always tell my brides, “The marriage is for you. The wedding is for family.” After a year of my own dad dealing with some pretty serious health issues, I know how important my sister’s upcoming wedding is. Not only because she is going to get married, but because we will all be together celebrating LIFE!
Thank you Craig and Summer for allowing me to share in your expression of LOVE!
ENJOY!!
