Bridal portraits are my favorites sessions because the bride knows that these are about to be some of the amazing photos she has ever had taken of herself. Hair, makeup and dress are perfect. Light is perfect. Setting is perfect. No pressure. No stress. No judgement. My goal and my job is to capture not only her beauty but her essence. Creating a portrait requires far more than just good exposure and composition. It is about translating the spirit of that person in an image. Jodi’s portraits are beautiful for a number of obvious reasons. I mean how could they not be? She’s beautiful, the dress is amazing and Shalee is too cute for words. For me they are not only “pretty” they breathe. Knowing Jodi and having been given the opportunity to get to know her and her family I believe that when people look at these images they will say… “That’s Jodi… that’s who she is.”
ENJOY!!

Practice practice…
October 16, 2009At least 3 times a week I roll my mat out at Shanti Yoga Studio in Myrtle Beach and practice vinyasa yoga. I have played a lot of sports, taken a lot of classes at the gym and had numerous personal trainers.. but none have compared to the rigorous physical practice that I attempt to partake of. Other than photography, yoga is the hardest thing I have ever attempt. I have been so blessed to have numerous teachers in my life, and Dawn is no exception. I often feel guilty because what she gives during a class is far more valuable than the cost of the class. Anybody who knows me knows that I rarely am at a loss for words… however as I sit here and try to wrap words around what my practice means to me I find that I am almost speechless. The following photos are of my teacher, Dawn. Not only is she an incredible teacher, she is also my friend. Namaste.
