There is something to be said for giving. My husband likes to quote Neicy Nash from Clean House, “When your hand is open to give it is open to receive”. I’m sure she didn’t coin the phrase, but he likes the way she says it. Anyway, so here’s the short of the long of it:
Stephanie has worked with me for almost 3 years. She is one of those people who will bust her butt for you and go above and beyond every time. She is a fast learner and has an innate ability to “read my mind”. Not to mention she has a great eye. It comes very natural to her. Anyway, so 2 years ago she asked me to photograph a wedding with her. Of course I was much obliged… the least I could do. Stephanie did a great job and the wedding went off without a hitch (with the exception of the Gamecock vs. Clemson Tigers showdown at the reception) Sooo…. here’s where it comes back around for me. Last summer I get a phone call from Kit. Kit and Caleigh, Stephanie’s bride, are good friends. Kit tells Caleigh she needs a photographer and Caleigh tells Kit, “You should call Lynn. She helped Stephanie at my wedding and she’s super beautiful and gorgous and funny.” (ok, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit but you get the drift) Kit called me and her exact words were, “nothing is more important to me than the photography.” Nuff said.
I really enjoyed getting to know Kit and DeAndre a little better. They are perfect for each other. You know a man loves his woman when he is willing to spend 3 hours tromping around town and country to get some pictures taken, especially at the risk of ruining his tough as nails “coach” persona. I promised D I wouldn’t embarrass him with his boys and I think I kept my word. I even let him keep his shoes on at the beach.. others have not been so lucky .
I talked to Kit today and she told me she loved the photos. I really hate being cheesy and cliche’ but the truth is that these photos are very important for a lot of reasons. I think it’s no coincidence that I helped Stephanie that day and as a result met Kit and D. I am honored that they chose me and I look forward to making Kit’s dreams come true… I know totally cheese, but it’s true.
ENJOY!!!

Tillman and Tucker are clearly stealing the show here.

I was totally inspired by the colors, and patterns, and light of Crady’s restaurant in downtown Conway. They are closed for a few hours after lunch and were gracious enough to let us borrow their beautiful dining room.

This is Kit trying to be “serious about love”.
And this is D showing her how it’s really done.

I am borderline infatuated with this image on the left. Don’t know why, I just love it.
