This wedding was perfect. Katie was literally stunning. I really think it goes without saying. It was impossible to take a bad photo of her. One of my favorite photos from the day was as Katie stepped out of the limo at the church. The adorable chauffer was an older gentleman. He wore the cutest little derby. And as she stepped out of the car their he stood waiting for her with her bouqet. The shot is the moment she reaches her hand out to take the flowers. Katie’s beauty was utterly effortless. She was graceful, classic, and sophisticated… Corey is one lucky guy. I have to say that Katie and Corey’s wedding was a perfect match for who I think it really who I am as a photographer.
I have been photographing weddings now for almost 8 years. I was an assistant and second shooter for the first 4. I’ve always known inside my head what I wanted the images to look like and I can honestly say I believe I am really doing my very best work. For the last 8 years I’ve been searching for the “secret to success” guide to being a successful photographer. Searching for it at workshops and in blogs and books. And I really think that this year I found out what that “secret” is. And I’m going to share it right here right now. The big secret is that there is no big secret. The only way to get where you want to be is to WORK HARD! There is no magical camera and lens combination or photo shop technique or marketing plan that is going to propel you to be a superstar photographer… my mom thinks I’m the best photographer in the world, that’s good enough for me :)
I am so grateful every time a couple chooses me to shoot their wedding. Katie and Corey are no exception. Every time I looked through the lens I saw something beautiful. Katie’s vision was perfectly executed with help from Denise at Greenskeeper Florist. Her white peony bouquet was timeless and elegant. And how can every photo not be gorgeous when Brookgreen Gardens is the backdrop. So without further ado I give you the long overdue Katie and Cory Lonberger. ENJOY!!!
